Preschool Revitalisation

Chirnside Park Preschool

This study provided valuable information relating to the best use of built form and land to create a Preschool that is of high quality, value for money, has longevity and contributes positively to the public realm.

Polychrome assisted Yarra Ranges Council in a review of their Preschool asset at Chirnside Park to develop a series of options that increase it’s capacity for the growing needs of the local community with the objective of selecting a preferred concept design to form the basis of seeking funding from a variety of funding sources. Three options were investigated which included renovation for 33 places, renovation and extension for 66 places and new build for 66 places. A functional brief was developed with the Preschool management and Council representative Stakeholders to inform the planning outcomes required for each option.

"We have experience with working in existing contexts with complex constraints and can provide tailored results which employ the latest design technologies to create, communicate and visualize design through all phases of a project"
